Uprising44 The Silent Shadows has Unity graphics engine which provides some high level graphics output. The specialty of this engine is the destructible environment and some fantastic lighting effects. The explosions are stunning. The ruined Warsaw city is very well depicted in this title. The uniforms, vehicles and weapons match the World War II era perfectly. In action mode you can play with an over the shoulder camera which will give a sense of reality of the scene where a small group of soldiers are fighting in the city which is ruined, underground canals, buildings etc. 16 types of weapons are available at your disposal. The sound department has been done well to complement other things. The voice acting is good with the correct accent. The sound of all the weapons and vehicles has been correctly used to create the feel of World War II. The overall soundtrack is epic and emotional. The ambient sound is excellent and can be noticed during the bombings and when you are underground.
The story has been written like a movie. This is more evident from the cinematic that is shown at the beginning and after which a voice-over tells a story about Jimmy who has been sent to Warsaw as a silent shadow but he is not the only one. You have to take control of a squad and guide them from point A to point B to provide and organize resistance to enemy. The gameplay is well thought out and detail but at the same time remains accessible to newcomers.
